SMOK Infinix vs. Novo Pod System Comparison

Comparing the SMOK Infinix vs. Novo, which is the best pod vaping system for the money? Read a simple, direct comparison here.

Pod vaping systems are undoubtedly the hottest thing to hit the vaping industry in years. We hear it from our customers almost every day. New vapers love the fact that pod systems present an option for switching to vaping that’s easy to use and delivers nicotine far more efficiently than the cigarette-shaped “cigalikes” of old. Existing vapers are even switching from larger vaping devices to smaller pod systems because pod-based devices greatly reduce e-liquid consumption – and the associated expenses – while remaining immensely satisfying to use.

Pod systems may represent the fastest-growing segment of the vaping industry. Every major vaping manufacturer now offers at least one pod-based device. A few manufacturers even have multiple pod systems on the market – and that’s where confusion can begin. Today, we’re going to discuss the two offerings from the world’s biggest vaping manufacturer by comparing the SMOK Infinix vs. Novo. They look just about the same. They’re even priced similarly – so how can you choose the best pod vaping device for your needs? Today, we’re going to break the two devices down for you.

SMOK Infinix vs. Novo

In terms of its physical design and the experience of using it, the Infinix is the more cigarette-like of SMOK’s pod vaping devices. The Infinix is small enough to hold between two fingers like a cigarette, whereas the Novo is a bit more like a traditional vape pen in its size and shape. While the Infinix is slightly longer, the Novo is both thicker and wider. The benefit of the increased size is that the Novo lasts nearly twice as long between battery charges.

In addition to the increased battery life, the Novo features slightly better vapour production owing to the larger mouthpiece opening and airflow channels. The mouthpiece shape of the Novo, however, may be a negative for some. The Novo has a wide, whistle-shaped mouthpiece, while the Infinix has the small, cigarette-shaped mouthpiece that some recent quitters may prefer.

The SMOK Infinix and Novo both benefit from being incredibly easy to fill and use. To fill either pod, simply pull it straight up to remove it from the battery unit. On the side of the pod, you’ll see a small rubber plug. Pull the plug out of its hole and insert a needle-tipped bottle to fill the pod. If you’re filling the pod for the first time, wait several minutes for the wick to saturate with e-liquid before vaping. While you’re waiting for the wick to saturate, you can charge the battery unit by connecting it to any computer USB port. Both devices have draw-activated air pressure sensors; simply puff to generate vapour.

How to Have the Best Experience with the SMOK Infinix or Novo

Although it’s not a requirement, the SMOK Infinix and Novo both work best with nicotine salt e-liquids. The greatest benefit of using a vaping device with refillable pods is that you can fill those pods with any type or flavour of e-liquid that you like. Nicotine salt e-liquid, however, is designed to provide a satisfying and cigarette-like experience with a small, low-temperature vaping device. Regardless of the e-liquid type, you should confirm the VG/PG ratio of any e-liquid before buying it for your Infinix, Novo or other pod system. VG is very thick, and a high-VG e-liquid may have difficulty flowing through the small wick openings in a pod. Start with a VG/PG ratio of 50/50. If you often notice a burned taste when vaping, try an e-liquid with a lower percentage of vegetable glycerine.

As we mentioned at the start of the article, pod vaping systems such as the SMOK Infinix and Novo have convinced many vapers to “downgrade” from larger and more powerful vaping devices. One of the biggest reasons for that is because the more powerful a vaping device is, the more e-liquid it uses. The more e-liquid your device uses, the more expensive vaping becomes. If you’re switching to a pod system from a larger vaping device, though, you need to know that when you use a pod system, you’ll inhale the vapour from your mouth to your lungs as if you were smoking. That might be a bit of a change for you if you currently use a larger device designed for direct-to-lung inhaling.

Alternatives to the SMOK Infinix and Novo

If neither the SMOK Infinix nor the Novo seems like the right device for you, here are two alternatives that you should consider.

Aspire Gusto Mini

If you don’t like the idea of filling your own vape pods, the Aspire Gusto Mini might be the most exciting pre-filled pod vaping system on the market. Aspire has licenced the Gusto Mini technology to some of the world’s most popular e-liquid makers, giving you an enormous selection of pre-filled pods from which to choose. Would you like pre-filled pods with e-liquids by companies such as Element and Vampire Vape? Only the Aspire Gusto Mini makes it possible.

Vype ePen 3

Like the Aspire Gusto Mini, the Vype ePen 3 uses pre-filled rather than refillable pods. If you don’t care for the somewhat boxy design of the Gusto, though, the ePen 3 is an alternative with sleek lines resembling those of a sports car. Beautifully ergonomic, this device is a big hit with our fashion-conscious customers.
