Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced vaper, here you will find the perfect vape kit for your vaping style, your lifestyle and your budget. Don’t forget to stock up on your replacement coils or pods when you order your new vaping hardware. You can then look forward to sampling a huge array of delicious e liquids.

What are the different types of vape kit?

There was a time when the only type of vape kit you could use was a cigalike. Featuring a small cylindrical battery and a closed cartridge that held the e liquid, cigalikes were simple devices that looked like cigarettes and that enabled you to vape a limited number of flavours. These days things are things are very different! You have diverse vape kits to explore including convenient disposables, stylish vape pens, handy pod systems and complex box mods. Our range features the finest beginner’s vape kits, intermediate vape kits (often known as Starter Box Mods) and advanced vape kits from the leading brands.

What are disposables?

Enabling you to vape hassle-free, disposables are compact devices that are pre-filled with e liquid. Inhale activated, they are incredibly easy to use, and you simply vape until the e liquid is exhausted and then discard the device. You can enjoy a wide variety of flavours with disposable vape pens and never need to worry about refilling your device or changing your coil. However, disposables may be convenient, but they are costly in the long run and bad for the environment. We stock the latest disposable vapes from the leading brands including Elf Bar, SKE Crystal and 88vape but would urge you to choose a refillable, rechargeable vape kit instead.

What are vape pens?

Vape pens are vape kits that feature a cylindrical casing containing a battery together with the circuitry that controls the device. The casing connects to an e liquid reservoir in the form of a tank or pod. Most vape pens are easy to use and are relatively straightforward mouth to lung (MTL) devices suitable for beginners. But more complex options are available including vape pens that offer multiple operating modes and that support sub ohm vaping.

What are pod vape kits?

When the vaping world began moving on from cigalikes, manufacturers created kits that boasted a battery and a glass tank to hold the e liquid. Then, there was something of a revolution when new types of kits came to market – pod systems. These quickly became popular choices and featured plastic pods instead of glass tanks. There are now lots of pod kits to choose from and there are three types to consider. Pod kits with prefilled pods give you the greatest convenience. But they are the most expensive options and limit your flavour choices. Pod systems with refillable pods that have built-in coils enable you to sample many flavours. However, you must discard a pod once its coil reaches the end of its useful life. With pod kits that feature refillable pods and replaceable coils, you benefit from the same flexibility and cost benefits as you would with a vape tank.

What are box mod vape kits?

Box mods are battery casings that are square or boxy in appearance. They contain a built-in battery or a compartment for a removeable battery together with circuitry and a chipset. Some also feature a screen that displays settings and other useful information A box mod can be connected to a compatible tank or pod to create a device. Box mods tend to be more complex than vape pen batteries. They may offer multiple operating modes such as variable wattage, variable voltage and temperature control. As such, they are best suited to experienced vapers.

What is a starter kit?

The term “starter” is a little confusing as it implies that a starter kit is suitable for beginners. But in the context of vaping hardware, a starter kit is a package deal and one that contains everything you need to vape including a battery, a tank or pod, a coil, a charging lead and often also spare parts. You will discover many starter kits that are ideal for beginners, but you will also see starter kits that are designed to suit more experienced vapers.

What is the best vape kit for you?

With so many great kits to choose from, how do you identify the right hardware for you? When you are just getting started on your vaping journey, simple MTL vape pens and pod kits are excellent choices. Once you have familiarised yourself with how these devices work, you can then explore more complex options including advanced vape pens and box mod kits. Here’s what to think about:

  • Ease of use – are you new to vaping and do you understand how to use the various operating modes offered by the more complex devices?
  • Convenience – would you value the convenience of prefilled pods, or would you prefer to have a wider choice of flavours? Is the convenience offered by built-in coils appealing or do you wish to enjoy the flexibility and cost savings offered by replaceable coils?
  • Size – a compact device is easier to carry around when you are on the go. But the more compact the device, the less options it will give you and the shorter its battery life is likely to be.
  • Battery capacity – battery capacity is expressed in milliamp hours (mAh). The higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last before it needs to be recharged.

Vape Kit FAQ

How long do vape kits last?

Vape kits vary in their longevity, and their longevity will greatly depend on how intensely you vape. Integrated batteries don’t last forever but should serve you well for at least six to twelve months, possibly longer. Once an integrated battery reaches the end of its life, you must dispose of it and invest in a new battery or mod. Some vape kits feature mods with replaceable batteries. This means that you don’t have to discard the mod when the battery dies, you simply install a new battery. Your vape kit will also include a tank or pod and this could break if you knock or drop your device. However, you can replace the tank or pod and so you won’t have to dispose of the entire e cig.

How do vape kits work?

Vape kits feature a battery or mod to power the device together with a tank or pod to hold the e liquid. The tank or pod will have a coil installed. You attach the tank or pod to the battery or mod. When you fire the device by pressing the fire button or inhaling on the mouthpiece, the coil heats up and vaporises the e liquid. You can then inhale the vapour through the mouthpiece.

What is mouth to lung vaping?

Mouth to lung (MTL) vaping is the practice of drawing vapour into your mouth and then into your lungs. It is the style of vaping that is usually practised by beginners and that which most closely replicates the sensation of smoking. MTL vape kits feature high resistance coils that deliver discreet vapour.

What is direct to lung vaping?

Direct to lung (DTL) vaping is the practice of drawing vapour directly into your lungs. This style of vaping requires the significant vapour produced by low resistance (sub ohm) coils. These reach higher temperatures when fired and so vapourise more e liquid and produce bigger clouds.

What vape is most like cigarettes?

All electronic cigarettes are good alternatives to traditional cigarettes and will give you your nicotine fixes. However, devices designed for mouth to lung (MTL) vaping will provide draws that feel closest to the sensation of smoking. Look for vape pens, pod systems and starter kits with high resistance coils (coils with resistances of 1.0ohm or more). These tend to be low wattage devices that are inexpensive to buy and easy to use. You could also explore devices which features a cigarette-style filter. Some vapers feel that these filter tips more closely replicate the feeling of smoking than regular mouthpieces.

What vape is the safest?

All genuine, branded vape kits sold in the UK are subject to strict regulations and are safe providing they are used correctly. It is important to follow the instructions provided with your device. Please be aware that counterfeit versions of the hardware from the leading vape brands such as Aspire, SMOK, Innokin, Vaporesso and VooPoo are common. These may perform badly and could be dangerous.

How much do vape kits cost?

Vape kits vary greatly in price. In general, the more complex the vape kit is, the more it will cost. You can invest in a simple vape pen for as little as £7 but an advanced vape kit with a powerful mod could cost you £75 or more. It is important to consider that the total cost of your kit across its lifetime and this will in part depend on whether it features prefilled pods, refillable pods with built-in coils or refillable pods with replaceable coils. Prefilled pods are the most costly options while vape tanks and pods with replaceable coils are the most cost-effective choices over time.
